Shakespeare in Year 5

This term we are leaning about William Shakespeare with a focus on his play Macbeth. Already this term we have performed sections of the play, read a lot, researched Shakespeare and written in role as both Lady Macbeth and Macbeth.

Below are examples of our writing, pictures of our performances during English lessons and some of our class displays. Next week I will blog our trip to the Hippodrome and post pictures of our workshop!

Learning in Term 3

What a term year 5 have had, so many creative projects and experiences: watching Tim Peakes in space to talking to Helen Castor about the Tudors, researching a wide range of Tudor information to reading Treason, this term has been full of fun and learning.

In such a short term we have packed so much in, it is easy to see the learning and enjoyment year 5 have experienced this term. We have learnt a lot about the Tudors for example: did you know Henry the VIII is reported to have exploded two weeks after his death? Do you know the difference between the Stocks and the Pillory? WE DO!

Next term we are really excited to be learning all about Shakespeare and performing one of his plays! Remember to keep an eye on our blog to find out what we have been getting up to!

Look below at our wonderful work and pictures of our learning.
