Please ask your children about the amazing owls they saw and the interesting facts they learnt! We has such a fun afternoon and learnt so many things. For example: Owls have two stomachs; they eat their prey whole and the get all their liquid from animals they have eaten!

Learning this term!
Wow! I can't believe we are already over half way through the term, so much learning completed and so much left to do.
English:
This term the children have really enjoyed reading Skellig by David Almond and produced some amazing written work which you will be able to see on display in the classroom and you childs books on Wednesday 25th May at 2:30pm.
We have written in role as Michael, Skellig, re-written chapters and produced balanced arguments on whether all children in the UK should be home schooled or not. The children are really working hard on editing and improving their writing and I am extremely proud of them!
Maths:
So far we have covered:
* Roman numerals
* Translation of a shape
* Area and perimeter of both compound and regular shapes
* Volume
The children have been completing a 2 minute times table challenge each day and I must say they are improving daily and are now developing confidence to apply this to their work.
Science:
We have been looking at the life cycles of plants and animals this term, which links back to last term also. We will be having a science discovery afternoon soon so please come back and look at the great learning that will be taking place.
Art:
This term linked to our class book and for the arts trail we have created two sets of wings. One set is designed in the style of an owls wings - each child has two wings added to a class set. The other set is designed with the theme of carnival in mind, again each child has at least one feather on the wings. The children have enjoyed working on these and they are wonderful. I will add some pictures when the wings are complete.
