Below are some pictures of our Global day preparations and celebrations in Year 5. 

Longitude and Latitude

Today we have been learning how to read maps using Longitude and Latitude, which follows on from our lesson on grid references and locating places on a map using clues. Below is a creative way to remember Longitude and Latitude. 


The lines of Latitude go round and round, round and round, round and round. The lines of Latitude go round and round they’re always North or South.

The lines of Longitude go up and down, up and down, up and down. The lines of Longitude go up and down they’re always East or West.

Trip to Bristol Museum and Art Gallery

Here are a few images from our trip to the Museum and Art Gallery. The children has so much fun and a wide range of learning took place. We revisited topics from the beginning of the year and looked at areas that were new to all of us. They were an absolute pleasure and credit to Holy Cross and I am so proud of them!
